About Peter Ruby
Peter brings over 30 years’ construction experience, beginning his career on the tools before progressing into Environmental, Health & Safety. His experience spans pharmaceutical, commercial, industrial, residential and civil engineering projects in Ireland.
From heavy plant and groundworks to structural steel and fitting precast units at height, Peter has supported health and safety across the full construction process. This broad, hands-on experience gives him a practical understanding of the risks faced by site teams and the controls needed to manage them safely.
His career began on site, creating a strong grounding in construction operations, workforce management and the practical challenges faced across complex environments. He later moved into Environmental, Health & Safety, developing a strong focus on compliance, continuous improvement and safety culture.
Building on his extensive practical construction experience, Peter returned to third-level education to further develop his professional knowledge, completing a First Class Honours MSc in Environmental Health & Safety Management.
Peter has held senior EHS roles on major construction projects, including pharmaceutical developments and multi-contractor environments. He established Bedrock Safety Consultancy Services to provide practical consultancy, training, safety-management systems, inspections and project support.
Bedrock Safety also supports facilities-management and accommodation providers with Safety Statements, site-specific risk assessments and practical safety arrangements tailored to their buildings, activities and responsibilities.
His approach is proactive, solution-focused and grounded in helping clients, project teams and contractors operate safely, compliantly and efficiently.
